R.Ring is a new band featuring Kelley Deal of The Breeders and Mike Montgomery of Ampline who are dropping by JJ’s Bohemia tomorrow, February 19th! Chattanooga is one of the few Southern cities who will be able to experience this new project which Montgomery described in a Cincinnati Metromix interview as “Two guitars and two voices.” [read the full interview HERE]

The band is currently putting the finishing touches on a 7-inch due out via Misra Records later this year, but before that drops, swing by JJ’s Sunday and get a first taste of this new project. The only sample we could find is from an April show promo for the Dayton, OH venue South Park Tavern, which you can check out below… but come on, Kelley Deal and Mike Montgomery? You know it’s gonna be good, don’t miss it!.. See full tour dates below including Nashville, Knoxville and Birmingham:

Check out the first single, ‘Love Interruption,’ from White’s debut solo album ‘Blunderbuss’ which drops April 24th via Third Man Records!… In the LP’s announcement, Jack has said: “I’ve put off making records under my own name for a long time but these songs feel like they could only be presented under my name. These songs were written from scratch, had nothing to do with anyone or anything else but my own expression, my own colors on my own canvas.”

GET TO KNOW: Mom & Dad

January 9, 2012 1 Comment

Mom & Dad are a band that have recently caught our ear. Our only disappointment… that it took this long to discover them (for being just down the road from us)! This Murfeesboro, TN 4-piece have not only dropped their debut full-length ‘Cave Art’ independently last year but also released the 7-track EP ‘Pieces/Parts,‘ back in November. Fuzzy, lo-fi pop straight-outta Tennessee… What else can you ask for?

Check out both of Mom & Dad’s 2011 releases below and if your in the Nashville area Tuesday (1/10), swing by The End, where they’ll be playing with Don Coyote, Bad Back and The South Rail favorites Ranch Ghost:
