Acid Baby Jesus: ‘It’s On Me’

September 21, 2011 0 comments

We had the pleasure of catching Acid Baby Jesus from Athens, Greece and Hell Shovel (featuring members of King Khan & The Shrines and The Demon’s Claws) at Sluggo’s last night here in Chattanooga. Both bands are touring the U.S. together in preparation of Acid Baby Jesus’s new self-titled LP which drops via Slovenly Recordings October 11st.

Earlier this year, the band released ‘Hospitals’, a 3-song 7-inch with the same label that was accompanied with a video for the single ‘It’s On Me’ that can be streamed below… Gritty, fuzzed-out phych-rock that is worth catching live this Fall while they are currently touring the United States… check out their remanding tour dates below and pre-order the LP HERE:

The Beets: ‘Doing As I Do’

September 19, 2011 0 comments

The Beets from Queens, New York have recently signed to Hardly Art Records… a label who are slowly becoming one of our favorites with top-notch 2011 releases from Jacuzzi Boys, Hunx & His Punx and Seapony just to name a few… In celebration of that new signing and The Beets’ third full-length ‘Let the Poison Out,’ (which hits shelves October 24th) the band is giving away a little taste from the LP with the single ‘Doing As I Do.’

Lo-fi, gritty and good! If this track is any indication of what to expect from the new LP, which was recorded in only 2 days, then we’re in for one heck of a record!… Download/stream the track below and if you’re diggin’ it, pre-order the LP HERE

Get To Know: RANCH GHOST

September 7, 2011 6 Comments

Nashville’s Ranch Ghost is a new band who have been on our radar the past couple months. They are so new in fact, that there are only a few live videos and a live limited edition cassette tape floating around to even document their music… We typically don’t write-up a band prior to a studio release, but for Ranch Ghost with live shows this promising, we’ll make an exception!

The band recently sent us 2 digital tracks from their ‘Live at Mt Swag’ limited edition cassette tape, which is out now via Jeffery Drag Records (only 25 copies) and is actually Ranch Ghost’s first show. The band was also at Battle Tapes Recording last month, so expect something from the studio soon. A 7-inch? Maybe an LP? We’ll keep you posted. All we know is, we can’t wait!… Check out the tracks ‘Ragged Mile’ and ‘Long Hand‘ below and hear why this is one band to watch:
