Alexander Ebert, lead singer of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, will be releasing a debut solo album on March 1st on Community Music (via Vagrant), going by just the name Alexander. The album consists of ten brand new songs that he wrote entirely himself… and 2 tracks have surfaced from the self-titled album. The one track, ‘Truth,’ was floating around the internet with no explanation back in the fall, not knowing if this was something new from The Magnetic Zeros. a new side project or just a one-off track.
But don’t worry about the fate of the band, Alexander will be playing a select hand-full of shows before returning to the studio to complete work on the upcoming second LP from Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, which will be released later this year.
Alexander track listing:
1. Let’s Win
2. Awake My Body
3. Truth
4. In The Twilight
5. Bad Bad Love
6. Old Friend
7. A Million Years
8. Remember Our Heart
9. Glimpses
10. Let’s Make A Deal To Not Make A Deal
We introduced Quiet Life to you last May, giving away 3 copies of their EP ‘California Vacation,’ which was available as a small run of 200 hand-printed CDs that were only available at shows… Now, we are happy to announce, their full-length LP, ‘Big Green,’ is finally out via Safety Meeting Records. This time their album is pressed on vinyl and limited to 300 hand silk-screened, and hand numbered copies.

Stream the entire ‘Big Green’ album HERE… and check out the videos for the tracks ‘Jim’s Wedding Band’ and ‘Big Green’ below… and of course, if you dig what you hear, pick up your own copy HERE

Deerhoof’s TENTH studio album hit shelves today and in a Deerhoof typical fashion, they have one-upped yet another album. The name of the LP is Deerhoof Vs. Evil… and I officially said the band’s name 3 times…. The tracks have a little more of a digital vibe to them, but definitely work, not taking away from the Deerhoof sound we’ve grown to love.
Here’s a little taste from the album… If you’re diggin’ what you hear, and are into cassette tapes, the band printed a limited addition of 500 hand-numbered, green tint tape copies, which are available HERE.
The track ‘The Merry Barracks,’ is available free (below) to download for a limited time:
