Lanie Lane: Ain’t Hungry

August 30, 2011 0 comments

The latest single from the Third Man RecordsBlue Series brings us a couple new tracks from Australian artist Lanie Lane that features Jack White in the producer’s chair and as well as on guitar for the record’s A-side ‘Ain’t Hungry.’ A sweet, classic voice mixed with that Jack White sound we love, complemented by a very well produced video. What else can you ask for? We can’t stop listening… and watching! Check out the video below and pick-up the ‘Ain’t Hungry’ 7-inch (with the B-side ‘My Man’) over HERE for only $6:

Video of the Week: ACTION!

August 15, 2011 2 Comments

Action! is a Nashville husband/wife duo we recently stumbled across. After purchasing their 2010 released ‘Friend Weakend,’ last week, the LP has been endlessly playing on our turntable since we opened it’s wrapper… The album features several singles that are teamed with nicely edited videos for each song via the groups Vimeo account… This made picking this week’s Video of the Week quite difficult.

Since there hasn’t been a true Video of the Week article in a while we figured we’d double-dose you with two great videos from one amazing band!… The first song ‘Sandpiper’ will premiere in the top left corner of the blog the first half of the week, and the other, ‘Remember This One’ will premiere the remainder… but both can be streamed below right now!

If you’re diggin’ what you hear, you can pick up the limited edition vinyl of ‘Friend Weakend’ HERE for only $12… And also check out Robyn and Dan’s store Tiny Boot via their Etsy store HERE and blog HERE

Black Lips: Video & Download for New Direction

July 15, 2011 0 comments

The Black Lips have definitely wowed us again, with their new album: Arabia Mountain. Our once destructive, raw-no holds band have slightly “cleansed” their known craggy sound by adding slight hints of piano and sax, with Mark Ronson’s assistance. Apart from the fact that they have somewhat sanitized their known wild & rugged sound, there is a vulnerable roughness that continues to grab the soul. Check out their new video for ‘New Direction’ which demonstrates that, even though there is a pinch of purification, we have not lost our rebellious band.
