Video of the Week: ACTION!

Action! is a Nashville husband/wife duo we recently stumbled across. After purchasing their 2010 released ‘Friend Weakend,’ last week, the LP has been endlessly playing on our turntable since we opened it’s wrapper… The album features several singles that are teamed with nicely edited videos for each song via the groups Vimeo account… This made picking this week’s Video of the Week quite difficult.

Since there hasn’t been a true Video of the Week article in a while we figured we’d double-dose you with two great videos from one amazing band!… The first song ‘Sandpiper’ will premiere in the top left corner of the blog the first half of the week, and the other, ‘Remember This One’ will premiere the remainder… but both can be streamed below right now!

Get To Know: Blackfoot Gypsies

We’re always a sucker for a vintage-influenced blues/rock 2-piece… and Nashville’s Blackfoot Gypsies are defiantly hitting that mark. We recently discovered this guitar/drum duo and are eager to catch a live show and see what these guys are all about! They won’t be swinging by Chattanooga, but they’ll be roaming the south the next couple of months, covering Asheville, Charlotte, Nashville and a few more. Catch all show dates here.

Black Cab Sessions Come to the U.S!

Watching this preview gives us chills! So proud of American based music right now, especially Nashville! Black Cab Sessions is a London, England music series which features one-song performances by musicians recorded in the back of a black cab (hence the name)… and for the first time, the show has been recorded in America!!

Filmed in Nashville, Athens Georgia, New Orleans, New York City and Philadelphia, the Black Cab Sessions USA is part of a 6 show documentary series. The show hits TV soon featuring performances by Jack White w/ Wanda Jackson, Those Darlins, PUJOL, Tristen and many many more!… broadcast dates haven’t been released yet. We’ll keep you posted:

Turbo Fruits ‘Colt .45’ — 7" Release Show

Turbo Fruits will be headlining Nashville’s The End February 20th along with Surfer Blood and Holiday Shores to celebrate the release of their newest single ‘Colt .45.’ The 7″ vinyl is a limited pressing and will be released via CASS Records. It includes an early demo of their single ‘Broadzilla’ as a B-side — both singles are exclusive to this release. Head on over to the Turbo Fruits myspace and have a listen to ‘Colt .45!’
