TSR Exclusive: Kip Bradley LP Sampler

There is no better way to kick off the new year than with new tunes… especially if those tunes are pretty damn good. For the past week we’ve been diggin’ into Kip Bradley’s debut solo full-length, ‘Hunky Diamond,’ which basically has been on repeat since we first dug in.

Kip, who is also the frontman for Chattanooga’s SharkWeek, has taken a break from heavier riffs and howls, showing us a chiller, softer side, switching to an Americana vibed sound with slight nods to his Rock n ‘Roll roots. The first single from ‘Hunky Diamond’ is called ‘Split Wide’ and is about as uptempo and heavy as the album gets.

Stream that track below as well as a video sampler of the LP that features solo live takes as well as recorded tracks from the album with narratives scripted by Clark Williams of Big Kitty. No word yet on when the LP will drop, but till then, these few things below will hold you over. All we know is we hope this record gets pressed on wax, it’s definitely vinyl worthy:

Banditos: ‘The Breeze’ Limited Edition Pre-Order

Our pals Banditos gave us a sneak-~~peak~~ (listen) to their debut full-length ‘The Breeze’ last month, which is set to drop this August… And all we can say is that you’re in for a dang treat!

The LP was recorded at The Bomb Shelter in Nashville and is jam packed with new songs like the title track ‘The Breeze’ and ‘You Can’t Get Away,’ as well as new takes from some Banditos classics heard from their debut EP and live videos.

Nikki Lane & Langhorne Slim: Nashville Yard Sale!

It’s not like anyone really needs a reason to make a road trip to Nashville, but if your a Nikki Lane or Langhorne Slim fan, here’s a great excuse to make a mid-week trip:

Nikki Lane announced via Instagram a TWO-DAY YARD SALE starting today (Tuedsay July 1st) from 3pm CST – Sundown, starting again the same time/place Wednesday.

The yard sale will feature vintage cloths, furniture, housewares & more, all previously owned by Nikki Lane, Langhorne Slim & friends… And if you know anything about Nikki Lane’s taste from her High Class Hillbilly store, they you already know there should be some killer finds… Here’s the address:

Clear Plastic Masks: West Coast Tour with White Denim

Even though this tour doesn’t swing down South, we’re pretty fired up about our pals Clear Plastic Masks hitting the road with Austin’s White Denim for the next couple weeks along the West coast. A perfect combination of styles and sounds if you ask us! Hopefully this won’t be the last time this line-up occurs…. Everything kicks off January 31st in Seattle, WA as both bands are in-route supporting new albums… White Denim’s latest LP ‘Corsicana Lemonade’ and Clear Plastic Masks with their Serpents & Snakes Records debut EP.

If you haven’t already, check out CPM’s 4-track EP below along with their new video from the EP’s first single ‘Baby Come On.’ A perfect teaser-EP where every song can hold its own as a single. GET TO KNOW: Music Band

Nashville’s Music Band are one of our favorite discoveries from 2013, where we stumbled across their 2012 cassette/mp3 release of ‘Satan’s Grave,’ a 9-track masterpiece that was released via Denim Records. We don’t know what took us so long to obtain this gem, but we are oh so glad we did.

And now, to kick off the new year, at a point where we were craving more from this Nashville 3-piece, the band just digitally released a FREE live album to hold us over until their new studio release. ‘Live at Wembley’ features 13 tracks jam packed with ‘Satan’s Grave’ classics and never before released material… Dig in below and download the full album for free HERE:

Finally! Chattanooga is the city where all our SouthEastern friends need to be this New Years Eve! Cancel any plans you’ve have and join us December 31st to ring in 2014 with a FREE concert featuring HOUNDMOUTH and THE WEEKS!

This is all taking place downtown at Chattanooga Whiskey’s first annual New Years Eve Barrel Drop, located at Center Park and the 700 block of Market Street. Admission is totally free to the 21+ public and includes an evening of live music, cash bars and heated tent areas. Houndmouth are wrapping up one hell of a year. On top of several national TV appearances including Conan, Letterman and CBS This Morning, the New Albany/Louisville 4-piece have recently toured with Alabama Shakes and just wrapped up their recent tour with several sold out shows including New York City and 2 back-to-back shows in Louisville, KY where they performed with My Morning Jacket’s Jim James!

The Weeks are closing 2013 on a high note as well with a year of non-stop touring supporting their new album ‘Dear Bo Jackson.’ The Mississippi boys (now via Nashville) also spent a couple mouths overseas touring the UK opening for Kings of Leon, and wrapped up their their year playing 2 back-to-back sold out shows in Nashville just last week.

GET TO KNOW: Bully

Bully is the newest band to catch our ear from Nashville, a town that can’t stop cranking out amazing music. Their debut EP just dropped this week via Theory 8 Records and with just 4 tracks, has us craving for more.

Then you add the fact that front-woman Alicia Bognanno not only had her songwriting and vocal/guitar duties on the record, but she also recorded her band’s entire EP herself at Battle Tapes Recording in Nashville! Pretty damn impressive if you ask us!
