We decided to bring back of our Video of the Week feature and to kick things off by keeping it local. Strung Like A Horse is a Chattanooga “garage grass” bluegrass band who are on our must-see list of local bands. The boys also just won the 2012 Road to Nightfall competition and will be headlining this summer’s Friday Nightfall Series on August 3rd.

R.Ring is a new band featuring Kelley Deal of The Breeders and Mike Montgomery of Ampline who are dropping by JJ’s Bohemia tomorrow, February 19th! Chattanooga is one of the few Southern cities who will be able to experience this new project which Montgomery described in a Cincinnati Metromix interview as “Two guitars and two voices.” [read the full interview HERE]
The band is currently putting the finishing touches on a 7-inch due out via Misra Records later this year, but before that drops, swing by JJ’s Sunday and get a first taste of this new project. The only sample we could find is from an April show promo for the Dayton, OH venue South Park Tavern, which you can check out below… but come on, Kelley Deal and Mike Montgomery?
